Grants & Rebates
California Cool Cities Initiative: Combatting the Urban Heat Crisis for a Cooler, More Sustainable Future
The Extreme Heat and Community Resilience Program (EHCRP) is a cornerstone of California’s climate strategy. This program is specifically designed to mitigate the “Urban Heat Island” effect in our most vulnerable cities.
Primary Funding Source: The EHCRP

What it covers: Repairs, coatings, and full replacements of commercial roofing systems with high-reflectivity materials.
Funding Amount: Eligible projects can receive grants covering a substantial portion of the installation—frequently up to 50%.
Our Role: We provide the Thermal Action Plan and technical diagnostics required by the state to prove your building’s eligibility for these funds.

Utility Rebates & Incentives
In addition to state grants, major California utility providers offer direct rebates for energy-efficient upgrades. These can often be “stacked” with grants to further reduce your out-of-pocket expenses.
Southern California Edison (SCE)
Energy Optimization: Rebates are available for commercial customers who install roofing materials that exceed Title 24 standards.
Demand Response: Systems that reduce cooling loads during peak hours (like cool roofs) may qualify for additional performance-based incentives.
LADWP & PG&E
Custom Express Rebates: Incentives based on the square footage of the reflective roofing installed.
Cool Roof Requirements: Rebates are typically calculated based on the Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) of the materials used.
Federal & Tax Incentives
Section 179 Deduction: Under current tax laws, certain commercial roof improvements may be eligible for immediate expensing, allowing you to deduct the full cost of the project in the year it was completed.
Energy Policy Act (EPAct): Tax deductions are available for buildings that achieve significant energy savings through envelope improvements.
